So we have been a little quiet for the last couple of months as we have been beavering away at post-production on 50 Kisses.
I sat today with editors Simon Reglar and Ricky Milling and watched what was pretty close to a fine cut of the final movie. And I have got to tell you, it flew by! We have made an effective, surprisingly powerful, funny, gut-wrenching and unique movie that reflects the talent of tomorrow. How cool is that!? BOOM!
We have done a huge amount of work on some of the films – and some of you will have had a call from us about getting access to your project and media so we can see all your rushes, extend a shot, replace a shot here and there etc. It’s surprising how films play differently in the context
Once we lock picture, we will need to start building the front and end credits in After Effects (can you offer help? If so email gail@londonswf.com) and start work on the sound design and sound mix. Many of you have done a good job with the sound, but we need to take it up a notch for distribution. If you have audio post skills and want to help, again, please drop Gail a line.
Once we have done the sound we will do a final picture conform (you may still get a call from us about your footage at this point) and the final picture grade and mastering. From there we will produce the final DCP and files for distribution.
Only then will we lock in a premiere date.
We have learned that, surprise surprise, EVERYTHING takes longer than expected. We have all worked so hard, let’s get it right and make a movie we can truly be proud of.
Onwards and upwards!
Chris Jones
